Matrix HR is seeking multiple skilled and detail-oriented Finishing Carpenters to join our clients team. This exciting project is an ongoing position located in Halifax, NS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and woodworking, with the ability to work on various projects that require precision and craftsmanship. You will be responsible for high-precision carpentry tasks on vessels and shipyard structures, ensuring all completed work meets shipyard safety requirements, quality standards, and project specifications.

Responsibilities:
- Perform finish carpentry tasks on vessels, modules, and shipyard facilities.
- Install and fit cabinets, trim, moldings, and interior finishing components on marine structures.
- Conduct restoration and repair work on existing shipboard components as required.
- Execute caulking and sealing work to meet marine-grade standards for durability and water resistance.
- Safely operate hand tools and power tools in accordance with shipyard safety protocols.
- Work closely with welders, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades to ensure schedules and workflow are maintained.
- Maintain an organized, hazard-free work area in compliance with shipyard safety rules.
- Follow all site-specific safety policies, including confined spaces, fall protection, and PPE requirements.
Skills:
- Proficient in using carpentry hand tools and power tools commonly used in finish and marine carpentry.
- Strong knowledge of finish carpentry techniques, including installation, restoration, and precision detailing.
- Solid knowledge of construction codes and standards, including the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and apply requirements to marine structures.
- Physically capable of performing demanding tasks, including lifting 50+ pounds and working in dynamic industrial environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication abilities to work alongside a multidisciplinary team.
- Valid Fall Protection certification (required).
- Must be able to obtain and pass a Government Security Clearance.
